OWENS’ GOLDEN HOT ROD ASHA #116975

Foaled June 25, 2004

Elegant in form, with the kindest of disposition, Owens’ Golden Hot Rod offers breeders something unique and exciting. He produces foals with the style and talent it takes to be show ring performers as well as the temperament to be the most glamorous trail horses you could ever imagine. A product of the famed Lange’s Golden Saddlebreds, he has the much sought after golden color as well as a pedigree rich in the blood of traditional show ring champions.

His sire, Broadway’s Hot Shot, is a grandson of WC Merchant Prince, who produced a near endless list of champion show horses, including the great mare, WGC CH A Sweet Treat. Hot Rod’s dam was sired by a beautiful black son of WGC CH Valley View Supreme, namely Mark Hall Supreme, known for producing WC Grey Flannel and CH Bay of Gold. His second dam was a daughter of the famed stallion, Genius Flying Saucer, whose get included RWC CH Anacacho Chapel Belle, Carey Stonewall (dam of WGC CH Finisterre’s Gift Of Love, WC The Benefactor and Carey’s Night Of Love), etc. The third dam of our lovely stallion was an own daughter of the powerful breeding stallion, Bobby Sea, known for producing show horses with an abundance of motion, gameness and quality. Such great as WC CH Sea Beauty and WC CH Private Stock claim him as their sire. He was also a grand broodmare sire, producing RWC CH Nan Sea (BHF), April Sea (BHF) and more. In all, there are 15 BHF dams in his six generation pedigree.

Hot Rod has been tested and is Aa for the Agouti gene. He is a strong color producer, having sired foals in an array of colors. To date, he has produced five buckskins, six palominos, one cremello, one black and four chestnuts. His daughter, Owens’ Don’t Be Envious, was a winner in hand at the Illinois State Fair. Stone Temple Patriot (formerly Owens’ Pot Of Gold) and Stevens’ Red Hot Chili Pepper have also tied high in futurity competition.
